Aftercare and Insurance
We understand that having any medical treatment can be an extremely stressful and worrying time for both the patient and their loved ones.
Before having any medical procedure it is totally normal for all patients to worry “what if something goes wrong”, and this concern is certainly deeper for patients travelling abroad for their medical treatment.
We have invested our resources in ensuring that we offer a fully comprehensive level of care for our patients, right from the first point of contact through to the completion of their medical treatment.
For this reason we advise patients about a unique and specially underwritten insurance policy which helps to alleviate these concerns for the patient and to really provide true peace of mind.
The policy covers the patient for 12 months from the moment they have had their surgery and covers any costs associated for any return visits to their consultant or the overseas hospital in the highly unlikely event of any complications.
The insurance policy is also a general travel insurance policy, which covers any usual travel related insurance benefits such as lost luggage, cancellation, travel delay etc.
The main medical related benefits of the insurance policy are:
If the patient’s recovery period is longer than expected, the policy covers all costs towards the accommodation for their extended recovery period and flights, plus a daily allowance.
If our patients need treatment for post-operative complications between discharge from the hospital and their return flight home, the policy covers all costs towards the cost of consultations, medical fees and any necessary medication.
If patients are not happy with their surgical results and are experiencing any pain, then a further follow up consultation might be needed with the surgeon who performed the operation.
If patients contact us immediately then our assistance team will make all the arrangements for the patient to return to the overseas consultant for the further follow up and if necessary any further medical treatment.
The insurance policy covers all costs towards the return journey such as flights, accommodation and any further medical costs.
