Patient Reviews
Jennie Lane
Jennie chose the Czech Republic for her hip replacement.
"I don't have any problems with the hip now – hoping to get back into the swing of gardening this spring as I missed out on it a lot last year. Back also to mucking out the horses so things slowly getting back to normal.
It was such a right decision to have the op done in the Czech Republic rather than wait another 18 months on the Welsh NHS waiting list in pain (and at my age, 65, every year counts!). I thoroughly recommend your website to anyone who is considering taking that step – they have no need to fear."
Joseph Alexander
Joseph chose to go to Norway for his much needed ligament surgery.
His comments were:
"Initially I was apprehensive, because I have never had an operation. Let alone go abroad to have one. This soon changed after discussing my concerns with Operations Abroad. All in all it was a pleasant experience and worth every penny. Everyone was very nice, friendly and helpful at the hospital. One person did stand out - Nime! She was the nurse that looked after me at the hospital. She had an aura of kindness and sincere warmth that made me feel like I was the most important person."
Thomas Connolly
Thomas went to Switzerland for his triple heart bypass
Thomas, from Bristol, was retired from his job as a council supervisor when he had a heart attack. It was a worrying time for him and the situation was not improved when he was told that although he would need a triple bypass, for the time being he would just have to stay on the waiting list.
Thomas decided to contact Operations Abroad Worldwide and within two weeks he was in hospital in Switzerland having his heart operation.
"My wife came with me and we shared a room. All the flights and travel arrangements were made for us so we had no trouble at all. I have had a new lease of life since I had the operation three years ago and I can thoroughly recommend it. I would tell anyone who needs an operation to just go ahead and get it done."
Armando Peralta
Armando went to Germany for a spinal fusion operation.
"My main reason for going abroad was to avoid the waiting lists and I could not wait in pain any longer.
I chose Operations Abroad Worldwide due to the speed that they could get my operation done and their superb reputation. I cannot fault any area of the total service I received. I felt totally respected at all times. I would say it was excellent value for money and there were no hidden extras or charges. All in all after having been in a number of hospitals throughout the world I would rate the hospital in Germany by far the best with dedicated doctors and staff. I would rate the whole experience as excellent from when I first enquired to when I returned back to the UK following my operation."
Patricia Leonard
Patricia chose Malaga for her hiatus hernia and gallbladder surgery.
"The hospital was fantastic! I was treated so very well and 6 days after the operations I had the stitches out. I am now looking forward to enjoying my life pain free. Thank you so much for all your assistance and as soon as I get a chance I am going to put something up on facebook to let my friends know about your scheme and how wonderful the hospital was."

Michael Grayson

"I was unable to have a hiatus hernia repair on the NHS so I looked for an alternative option. I chose Operations Abroad as they were by far the most prominent company offering this sort of service. For anyone considering having an operation abroad, I would certainly recommend Operations Abroad Worldwide for their quality of service."
Terryl Davies
Terryl had urgent double cataract surgery.
Terryl, a 52 year old accountant from Cardiff, decided to go abroad for her double cataract surgery.
She had a rare form of Cataract which was making it impossible for her to read spreadsheets, and as the waiting list in her local area was 39 weeks, the cost privately in the UK was £2000 per eye, and she was worried about the risk of contracting MRSA in the UK - having the surgery in Norway was definitely the best way forward for Terryl.
Terryl spent 2 nights in Norway having the much needed surgery and she rated the whole experience as Excellent from start to finish.
Her feelings upon returning home after the surgery were,
"I had the most amazing experience. What could have been an extremely stressful experience was made so wonderful by the care and attention I received throughout the whole process. I can never thank everyone involved enough."
Dominic Barczewski
Dominic went to Munich for the Innovative Stroke Treatment - Cord Blood Therapy
Dominic, 57, a former former professional soccer player had never been sick - he had regular check-ups and perfect health but on the 1st July 2017, he suffered a stroke.
Afterwards Dominic endured years of seizures and pain and was recommended to have numerous surgery procedures to control the seizures.
His wife did a huge amount of research and eventually found out about Cord Blood Therapy for Stroke sufferers.
They travelled to Munich for the treatment in October 2019.
Here's what they experienced...
It has been nearly 6 months since the treatment. My husband has not had a seizure since the treatment!! Amazing when he had suffered over 100 seizures before the treatment.
At 4 weeks post-treatment, his pain began to subside. Although the pain isn’t gone, it’s manageable. And there are days when he is pain free! We’ve also experienced unexpected improvements with speech.
At 6 weeks post-treatment, he was much more conversational, putting together two, three and four sentences at a time. His speech continues to improve with therapy.
Finally, and most important, his spirits are better. He laughs and smiles more. He stands a little taller, as the constant burden of the seizures and pain has been lifted.
Mike Grant
Mike chose Norway for his hernia operation.
Mike from Ashford contacted Operations Abroad Worldwide as he urgently needed a Hernia operation. He chose to go to Norway rather than enduring the lengthy NHS waiting lists. He also found that he would save approximately 50% compared to paying privately for surgery in the UK.
"Many thanks for all your help and organising a complete package. The hospital was superb, I found the general surgeon and his team absolutely marvellous. The level of care and skill was second to none which is sadly lacking in the U.K. Even after the operation the doctor came round to the hotel where I was staying to check if I was OK and to check that all was well. I found all the staff approachable and friendly, these people really do care about their patients. I would recommend Ops Abroad anytime to my friends and colleagues, thank you again."
Thomas Rouse
Life saving surgery in Tunisia.
"I chose to go abroad as I had an aortic aneurism and had it burst I would have died instantly. I knew I was walking around with a time bomb ticking inside me and decided I had to do something and therefore as I could not get the operation in the UK, I chose to go abroad. It was also safer abroad as there was no MRSA. I chose Operations Abroad Worldwide as after my initial telephone enquiry the girls were so attentive and caring that I knew I was making the right choice to have this operation done. The cheapest place was Tunisia so I opted for there. The hospital and staff in Tunisia were lovely. It was excellent throughout. The surgeon there even gave me his home telephone number and mobile in case I ever wanted to speak to him. This would never happen in the UK. Honestly I cannot thank the girls at Operations Abroad Worldwide enough. They still ring me now and ask how I am doing. It is nice that someone cares about you. I would recommend this whole experience to anyone."
Pat Blackford
Pat and John saved 80% on UK prices returning with perfect smiles.
Pat and her partner John went to Romania for a week and during that time they both had their dental treatment completed. They both had several crowns fitted which meant they returned to the UK with perfect smiles.
"The service was fantastic all round. We can't think of anything that could be improved. The results of our treatment were above and beyond what we expected. We are so happy that we chose to go to Romania for our dental treatment. We would recommend anyone to go through Operations Abroad Worldwide. The cost was unbelievable compared to the UK. We saved 80% on UK dentistry prices. All round an amazing experience! Our teeth are absolutely fantastic! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Cyril Adcock
Cyril had full mouth reconstruction treatment abroad.
Cyril went to Romania for his dental treatment. He needed a full mouth reconstruction with 9 implants and extensive bone grafting. After meeting the dentist in London, Cyril and his wife decided to go to Romania for the treatment.
He had researched many avenues to get his treatment but he found that the price in the UK of about £2000 per tooth made having a full mouth reconstruction horribly expensive.
"I chose Operations Abroad Worldwide and received a prompt, efficient and helpful service at all times and would recommend them to anyone. I now have once again a full set of teeth and I am able to eat normally. The procedure has resulted in a huge improvement in my quality of life and I am truly delighted with the outcome. In addition, I have had the added pleasure of two visits to Romania, a country with which I was previously unfamiliar, and where I enjoyed excellent hospitality and a significant cultural exchange."
David Woods

David Woods went to Romania for his dental treatment.

He was very happy with the consultation and chose to go to Romania for his dental implants and in doing so saved approximately 85% compared to U.K dental costs.
"I found Operations Abroad Worldwide to be extremely helpful in dealing with all aspects of my enquiry before I travelled abroad. I was given all the necessary information that I needed once I made the decision to travel. The dentist and all his staff were excellent. The hotel was very clean and the local food was delicious. Everything went very smoothly and I have already recommended many friends to use Operations Abroad Worldwide."
